Tehran theaters set for “The Two Executioners”, “Waiting for Godot”

TEHRAN – The Neauphle-le-Château Theater in Tehran is hosting Spanish playwright Fernando Arrabal’s play “The Two Executioners” as Irish writer Samuel Beckett’s “Waiting for Godot” will go on stage at the Qashqai Hall of Tehran’s City Theater Complex on Tuesday.

Mahmud Yusefi is the director of “The Two Executioners”, which is about Francoise, who reports her husband to the authorities for an unnamed crime. As he is tortured upstairs, Francoise and her two sons argue over their guilt and betrayal.

Mohammadreza Farabi, Omid Qanbari, Alieh Sharifi and Mohammad Hossein Khademi are the main members of the cast for the play, which will be on stage until January 20.

“Waiting for Godot” will be staged by director Hessam Lak. 

Vahid Ajorlu, Saeid Ahmadi, Meisam Damanzeh, Zaya David and Shahu Rostami will star in the play, which will be on stage until February 7.

The play is about Vladimir and Estragon waiting for the arrival of someone named Godot who never arrives.
