Caspian Sea Committee to Commence Work in Kazakhstan Today

SHEMIRAN, Northern Tehran The fifth meeting of the Caspian Sea Coordination Committee on meteorology, hydrology and monitoring water pollution opens today in Kazakhstan, it was earlier announced here by the Public Relations Department of Iran's Meteorological Organization.
The Islamic Republic of Iran holds the rotating chairmanship of the session to be held in the Central Asian Republic of Kazakhstan, the announcement further said.
It added that a seven-member delegation consisting of representatives of Iran's meteorological and atomic energy organizations and the ministries of foreign affairs and power will represent Iran in the meeting.
In addition to representatives of the five littoral states of the Caspian Sea, the EU, World Meteorological Organization, UNDP, UNESCO and several oil companies which are active in the Caspian Sea will send observers to the meeting.
Iran, the Russian Federation, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan are the five countries which have common borders with the Caspian Sea.
