Dozens killed in Gaza City and northern areas as Israeli strikes intensify

More than 40 Palestinians were killed in Gaza on Friday, including 14 from the same family, medical sources told Al-Jazeera.

Over 20 of the dead were in Gaza City and other northern areas, with WAFA reporting further casualties in Jabalia and Sheikh Radwan.

Multiple blasts struck near a UNRWA medical center after evacuation orders gave residents little time to flee—only for the designated site to be bombed. Homes were flattened, and a school sheltering displaced families in al-Shati camp was destroyed.

Since October 2023, Israel’s war has killed over 64,000 Palestinians in Gaza and wounded over 163,000 others. Rights groups warn repeated mass displacements under fire, with no safe haven, risk constituting unlawful forced transfer under international law.
