TEHRAN Secretary General of the Islamic Iran Participation Party (IIPP) Mohammadreza Khatami said on Monday that the IIPP will put forward a proposal to the president on the composition of the new cabinet.

Asked about the expectations of the IIPP from the president for a share in the new cabinet, the secretary general of the major political party of the reform camp said that the IIPP has no claims and will accept any competent individual proposed by the president.

Mohammadreza Khatami said that the IIPP has never focused on the extent the party should have a share in the new cabinet.

In principle, the president himself is not of a partisan affiliation so that his next cabinet will be away from partisan sentiments, the IIPP secretary general said.

"Of course we deserve the right to introduce competent personalities to assume ministerial post in the next cabinet. We will make our proposals to the president as the modus operandi of the political parties in shaping the new cabinet. But, the president and his advisors will decide on the composition of the new cabinet after studying the competence of the new figures to the job and to what extent they go along with the platform of the president," he said.

"We will support the president's choice for cabinet post. We hope that the next cabinet will focus on the president's platform and the Third Five-Year Economic Development Plan," Mohammadreza Khatami said.

Answering a question about the rumor on dispute between the Guardian Council and the Interior Ministry on ratifying the election results, he said that he has no knowledge about such a dispute adding that every organ is fulfilling its own duty in the framework of the law.
