Iran’s burgeoning ties with Africa

Iranian president Ebrahim Raisi wrapped up a three-nation African tour on Thursday. He was received by his counterparts in the countries of Kenya, Uganda and Zimbabwe. The flurry of diplomacy took place despite the U.S. and Israel trying to block Iran’s outreach by using their influence to cancel Raisi’s meetings. The efforts were to no avail as Iran ended up inking 21 documents in the three African countries. These are some images from the trip shared on African media.
