Larijani heads to Spain
“Yes, he has gone,” the official said. He declined to give any further information on Larijani’s trip.
Larijani, secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, had been expected to hold talks about Iran’s nuclear program in Vienna on Wednesday with European Union foreign policy chief Javier Solana.
But the talks were postponed due to procedural reasons and will possibly take place on Friday, Iran’s envoy to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Ali Asghar Soltanieh told Reuters earlier on Wednesday.
Solana is ready to meet Iran’s main nuclear negotiator but no date or venue has yet been decided, his spokeswoman said Wednesday.
Solana is “fully available”, Cristina Gallach said, while stressing that there was “no confirmation of a meeting” with Larijani.
Soltanieh told AFP the meeting had been postponed. He said it would be held “in a couple of days”.
