TEHRAN – Iran’s ambassador to Geneva, Mohammad Reza Sajjadi has said that certain countries use human rights issues in the United Nations as a tool for achieving their political purposes.
Thus, the United Nation’s credibility has been tarnished, Sajjadi said during a meeting of ambassadors of the Organization of Islamic Conference in the UN.Commenting on an American draft resolution against Iran on human rights, he predicted that efforts by certain countries to condemn others will lead to a confrontation in the UN Human Rights Council.
Sajjadi said that the U.S. is trying to approve a resolution against Iran, claiming that Iran does not cooperate with the council.
Presenting such anti-Iranian resolution to the council shows that the human rights issue has been abused by certain countries for many years
