Salehi meets Armenian, Turkmen, and Afghan FMs in Tehran

TEHRAN – Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi held separate talks on Sunday with his counterparts from Afghanistan, Armenia and Turkmenistan.
The meetings took place on the sidelines of the International Noruz Festivals in Tehran.In his meeting with Afghan Foreign Minister Zalmai Rasoul, Salehi said Tehran seeks security and stability in Afghanistan.
Salehi also said the Afghan people can manage the affairs of their country without the presence of foreign troops.
Salehi and Rasoul also exchanged views about regional and international developments.
Increasing trade ties to 10 billion dollars
Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov and Salehi called for expanding economic, political and cultural ties between the two countries.
The two ministers also discussed ways to provide more facilities for traders from the two neighbors.
Meredov and Salehi also called for continued consultations to increase trade ties from 2 billion dollars to 10 billion dollars per year.
Closer energy ties
Salehi and Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian also discussed joint investments in the light of good political relationship between Tehran and Yerevan.
The two sides also discussed closer energy cooperation between the two neighbors
