TEHRAN - The intelligence minister has said that the Islamic Republic has never discriminated between the Sunnis and Shias.

Speaking in a meeting with local religious scholars in Sistan-Baluchestan province, Mahmoud Alavi said enemies have adopted religious differences as their new tool to govern people, Khabaronline reported on Tuesday.

“We are all brothers and Iranians. The Islamic Republic is against and condemns any mindset that causes Muslims to be attacked,” he asserted.

The intelligence chief invited Shia and Sunni scholars to be vigilant against enemies’ schemes in order to prevent conflicts among Muslims.
