Parliament to target lack of economic transparency

TEHRAN – Under a plan circulated in the Majlis, public institutions and organizations which lack transparency will be fined, a lawmaker has said, ISNA reported.
Farid Mousavi said 40 parliamentarians have so far supported the motion which tries to boost economic transparency.
He said lack of transparency is an obstacle for achieving economic prosperity.
Regulating the financial affairs of public organizations and institutions plays an important role in boosting the transparency of the country’s economy, the lawmaker added.
