TEHRAN – Iran's Ambassador to the UK Hamid Baeidinejad on Saturday rejected rumors of talks between Tehran and Washington in London as “downright lies”.

“Some news outlets have quoted Kuwait’s Al-Jarida newspaper as claiming that some Iranian and American diplomats have met secretly in London and that the Yemeni talks in Sweden were the result of such meetings. This news stories are downright lies and are completely denied,” Baeidinejad said in a tweet. 

According to IRNA, Al-Jarida newspaper has reported that the agreements between the warring Yemeni sides were the result of secret meetings between Iranian and American diplomats who met in London following the mediatory role that European countries and Oman played.
