Qatari Emir's Wife: Iranian Women Model for Qatari Women

TEHRAN -- Presidential Advisor and Head of the Women Participation Center Zahra Shojaie in Doha on Tuesday called for expansion of relations and unity among Muslim states.

Shojaie, who is in Doha to attend the conference on Women, Policy and Role of Women in Development', told the wife of Qatari Emir Mrs. Sheikheh Mouzeh that the best way to improve Muslim women's status is to use positive experiences of women worldwide and localize the experiences in tune with principles of Shariah (Islamic cannon law), views of Ulima and culture of Muslim states.

She said organization of different sessions and exchange of experiences by Muslim women are the best ways for improvement of women's status worldwide,IRNA reported.

She emphasized the need for formation of women's committee at the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) to deal with problems facing Muslim women.

The Qatar Emir's wife, for her part, said Iranian women are the best model for the Qatari women.

She noted Muslim states should share views on issues concerning women and strive for improvement of women's status through swap of experience.

The conference on "Woman, Policy and Role of Women in Development" was held in Doha, Qatar, from April 21-23.
