BERLIN (IRNA) -- The main organizer of the 45th Munich Security Conference, Wolfgang Ischinger, confirmed that a representative from Iran will take part in the high-profile security meeting, scheduled to be held from February 6 through 8.

Ischinger was quoted as saying that a ""very high-ranking personality"" from Iran would attend the confab, widely viewed as the top annual gathering of political movers and shakers on global strategic issues.
He did not reveal the name of the Iranian representative.
Topics at this year's confab include the standoff over Iran's nuclear program, the future role of NATO, Afghanistan and energy security.
Meanwhile, American Vice President Joseph Biden is to deliver a major speech on the new U.S. administration's defense and foreign policy at the Munich conference.
