Principlists and reformists complete each other: Mousavi

TEHRAN, Mar. 3 (MNA) -- Former prime minister Mir-Hossein Mousavi stated on Tuesday that Iranian society is reformist and principlist in nature and that principlists and reformists complete each other.

Speaking at Tehran University to mark the 66th anniversary of establishing the Islamic Society in universities, Mousavi said that principlists and reformists complete each other as he said “freedom and justice are inseparable”.

He said there is actually no conflict between principlism and reformism, saying people do not like to see these two concepts as a means for political disputes and grabbing power.

Mousavi made these remarks as principlists and reformists are drawing horns for winning the June presidential election.

Mir-Hossein Mousavi was prime minister from 1981 to 1989, when Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was president. He was the last prime minister of Iran before the change in the Constitution which removed the post of prime minister.

Before that, he was the minister of foreign affairs.
