TEHRAN -- Countries like Iran and Turkey that enjoy a high status in the world can bring pride to Muslims, Iranian judiciary chief said here on Sunday.

Mahmoud Shahroudi made the remarks in a meeting with former Turkish prime minister Necmettin Erbakan who is here on an unofficial visit.
He also praised the Turkish government and nation for their strong reaction to the Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip in January.
Shahroudi also advised the Islamic countries to take serious measures to consolidate their unity.
The unity among Islamic countries will add weight to their grandeur and will reduce the West’s conspiracies against Islam, he noted.
Erbakan also pointed to Turkish nation’s firm belief in Islam, saying unfortunately serious efforts have been made to separate Muslims from their real identity.
He said humanity’s success is meaningless without Islam.
The only way to foil enemies’ conspiracies is to establish a modern Islamic world, the former Turkish leader pointed out
