Several museums open during Iran’s annual Cultural Heritage Week

TEHRAN – Several museums opened during Iran’s annual Cultural Heritage Week, opening on May 18 which is also International Museum Day.

The third and fourth phases of the Gilan Museum of Rural Heritage in Rasht opened on Monday, the first day, said head of the museum department of the Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts organization (CHTHO) Mohammad-Hossein Farahani.
The department of the Islamic era at the National Museum of Iran, as well as the museum of peace and friendship and the museum of documents will also open at the Sadabad Complex this week, he said, adding that two museums, Yazdani and Zand, will also open in Qom.
Several other programs also have been arranged during the week including the introduction of the data bank of museums on Saturday, and the opening of several handicraft exhibitions in Yazd, Isfahan, and Bushehr provinces on Sunday.
Farahani also announced that several other exhibits will be launched by the end of July in a number of other cities
