TEHRAN – The parliamentary committees welcome researches by University Jihad that would help the parliament in drawing up the five-year development plan, Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani said late Wednesday.

The Majlis takes serious heed of studies conducted by University Jihad and it has allocated a considerable budget for research at universities, he stated.
Larijani made the remarks during the 29th anniversary of the University Jihad’s establishment that was held at Rouyan Stem Cell Research Institution in Tehran.
Elsewhere in his speech, he said the foreigners became happy to see the disputes following the June-12 presidential election in Iran and tried to fan the flames of the disagreements.
However, they were not successful as the Iranian nation has always maintained its unity and solidarity against foreign threats, he emphasized.
Commenting on U.S. president’s remarks in Egypt where Barack Obama claimed he had adopted a new approach towards the Muslims and that is to begin and normalize relations with Muslim world, Larijani said what kind of normalization is it that does not recognize slightest rights for the Palestinians.
During a speech in Cairo, Egypt, on June 4, Obama offered a hand of friendship to Islam and urged a new chapter in ties between the U.S. and Muslims.
