Bahrain praises Iran’s approach to nuclear issue
Tehran Times Political Desk
TEHRAN – Bahraini Parliament Speaker Khalifa bin Ahmad Al-Dhahrani appreciated Iran’s logical approach to the nuclear issues, press department of the Iranian Embassy in Manama reported on Thursday.
Meeting with Iran's Ambassador to Bahrain, Hossein Amir Abdollahian on Wednesday, the Bahreini Council of Representatives’ chairman expressed his appreciation to “Iranian officials for their logical and rational stance on the nuclear issues”.
“Dialogue and conferring with neighboring states on regional issues is of great significance … which can develop mutual trust,” Al-Dhahrani stated.
The two sides discussed expansion of bilateral trade ties in line with the mutual interests of the two “friendly and brotherly” nations.
Khalifa bin Ahmad Al-Dhahrani made a reference to the good current level of all-out ties between the two sides and emphasized the need for expansion of parliamentary cooperation in a bid to have closer relations in other social, economic, and political arenas.
Trust-building in the region is possible through exchange of political and parliamentary delegations, he added, saying that “We are willing to have parliamentary ties (with Iran) and improve it in all other fields in a bid to serve the Islamic World.”
Iranian ambassador to Manama, for his part, underlined the importance of the Tehran-Manama parliamentary cooperation and expressed Iranian parliament’s readiness for strengthening regional-international bilateral ties with Bahraini parliament.
Iranian Majlis speaker in a letter invited his Bahraini counterpart to pay an official visit to the Islamic Republic. Amir Abdollahian submitted the invitation letter to Al-Dhahrani at Wednesday’s meeting.
The Bahraini official warmly welcomed the invitation and stressed on the need for more such trips between the two neighboring countries.
Such visits can foil enemies’ plots aiming at sowing discords among the regional nations, Al-Dhahrani explained, announcing that “he will give priority to his trip to Tehran.”
