IAEA responsible for shipping nuclear fuel: MP

TEHRAN (FNA) - The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) should deliver 20 percent enriched uranium for Tehran research reactor, MP Mohammad Reza Bahonar said on Thursday.

“The nuclear fuel for this reactor is running out and Iran Atomic Organization asked for fuel and IAEA called the U.S. and Russia to provide the fuel to Tehran reactor,” the Iranian labors news agency quoted Bahonar as saying.

“The IAEA is responsible for delivering the 20 percent enriched fuel, which is the main agenda for Islamic Republic of Iran, if the International Atomic Energy Agency does not fulfill it's commitment, Perhaps we have to do something by our own (continue the enrichment),” he reiterated.

Bahonar, Iranian Deputy Parliament Speaker, also said that the main discussion in IAEA draft for nuclear proposal deal is providing 20 percent enriched uranium for Tehran research reactor.

“Some have proposed to deliver 20 percent enriched uranium in return to 3.5 percent which we do not agree,” he added.
