Mahdavikia is unlucky, coach says

Eintracht Frankfurt coach Michael Skibbe said the Iranian footballer Mehdi Mahdavikia plays in the position in which the team has so many options.

“He is a top sportsman, nice and a gentleman,” said Skibbe. “He is not lucky because he plays in the position in which we have Patrick Ochs, Franz Jung, and other very good players,” he added.

The 32-year old winger, whose contract ends next summer, managed only 32 games in the past 18 months. Mahdavikia has not played a single minute this season.

“We will think about him in the winter break. Eintracht is not going to sell Mahdavikia,” the Eintracht Frankfurt coach added
