Iran, Azerbaijan can act as a bridge for regional friendship

TEHRAN – Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said here on Monday that Iran and Azerbaijan can act as a bridge for friendship between regional states.

Strengthening ties between Tehran and Baku will benefit both nations, he said in a meeting with the new Azerbaijani Ambassador to Tehran, Javanshir Akhundov.
The Azerbaijani ambassador, for his part, stated that Baku seeks to expand ties with Tehran.
Tehran welcomes expansion of ties with Kathmandu
In a separate meeting with the new Nepalese Ambassador Bahador Konwar, Ahmadinejad stated that Iran welcomes expansion of ties with Nepal.
“Iran sees no limitation for the expansion of ties and cooperation with Nepal,” he said.
Ahmadinejad added that the great cultural and historical affinities between Iran and Nepal lay ground for further mutual ties.
The Nepali ambassador stated that Kathmandu is keen to take advantage of Iran’s experiences especially in agriculture, industry, and dam building
