TEHRAN -- The UK Iranian Film Festival (UKIFF) is the 1st exclusively Iranian film festival to take place in the UK and is slated to begin in November.

There are many film festivals that honor Iranian films annually across the globe and now the time has finally arrived for an Iranian film festival to have a permanent home in the United Kingdom.
The week-long festival opening on November 19 includes special events which will take place in various cities in collaboration with Iranian and foreign cinematic figures.
Iranian documentarian Kamran Shirdel is heading the selection committee and the jury panel.
Screen director Patrick Tucker and cinematographer Zoran Veljkovic along with Iranian figures, including filmmaker Mojtaba Mirtahmasb, photographer Seifollah Samadian and artist Hossein Khosrojerdi, are other members of the selection committee.
The festival also is holding the New Image Contest that will be selected and judged by Samadian and Khosrojerdi. The images will be chosen out of works submitted in the two categories of photography and illustration whose themes are Iranian heritage or Iranian cinema.
