Kuwait Petroleum International (KPI) is said to have stopped supplying fuel for Iranian aircraft in European airports as part of the implementation of international sanctions imposed on Iran, reports Al-Seyassah daily quoting official sources.

Sources clarified the company merely complied with the decision of the United Nations; hence, the non-renewal of the fuel contract for Iranian aircraft abroad. 
Sources affirmed the company strictly abides by the existing regulations in Europe, considering its partnership with a number of European countries.
Sources said KPI contributes to companies supplying aircraft fuel, such as Shell, Exxon Mobil and Total, as well as 4,000 petrol stations in Italy, Germany, Sweden, Denmark, Holland and Belgium. 
Sources added the company also owns two crude oil refineries in Holland and Italy.
Meanwhile, Director General of Kuwait Aviation Fuelling Company (KAFCO) Nasser Al-Mudaf confirmed the company will continue supplying fuel for Iranian aircraft at Kuwait International Airport, provided it does not exceed $5 million yearly. 
He said the company took this step to ensure fair treatment, since the aircraft of Kuwait Airways Corporation and Jazeera Airways get the same treatment in Iranian airports.
