TEHRAN -- In a phone conversation on Wednesday, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad told the Saudi Arabian king that the aim of his visit to Lebanon last week was to invite Lebanese to maintain unity.

Ahmadinejad described King Abdullah’s visit to Lebanon in July as “positive”, saying “we too travelled to Lebanon so the efforts to create unity and solidarity there are complete.”
“In this trip, I talked to all of our Lebanese brothers about maintaining unity and they welcomed it,” Ahmadinejad explained.
This conversation between the two leaders was their second in eight days.
Ahmadinejad and Abdullah first conversation took place on October 12, the day before Ahmadinejad’s visit to Lebanon.
During their first conversation, the two reviewed the overall situation in the region and called for further cooperation among the regional states to promote peace and security in Lebanon
