Ahmadinejad invited to take part in Kuwait’s independence festivities

TEHRAN - Kuwait’s Emir Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Jabir al-Sabah has invited President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to attend the 50th anniversary of Kuwait’s independence and the 20th anniversary of its liberation from the Iraqi occupation.

Kuwait’s ambassador to Tehran, Majdi Ibrahim al-Zafiri, delivered the written invitation to presidential chief of staff Esfandiar Rahim Mashaei here on Monday.
In the meeting, Mashaei said that Iran is ready to share its experiences with the regional countries including Kuwait.
Mashaei also said any instability in the region will benefit the enemies and called for an increased Tehran-Kuwait cooperation in cultural, political, and economic areas.
Zafiri, for his part, described Iran’s role in promoting security in the region as “significant”.
