Senegalese president calls for closer cooperation with Iran

TEHRAN – Senegal’s President Abdoulaye Wade called for boosting ties with Iran especially in developing automobile and tractor production lines in his country.

Wade made these remarks in a meeting with Manouchehr Mottaki who was a tour of Senegal.
Mottaki also submitted the Iranian president’s message to Wade.
Pointing to Senegal’s prominent role in western Africa, Mottaki appreciated the African country’s attempts to resolve crises in the region.
In a separate meeting, Mottaki and Senegalese Foreign Minister Madicke Niang examined new ways for boosting ties between Tehran and Dakar.
The Senegalese foreign minister said Iran is a friend of Senegal and praised Tehran’s efforts for realizing the goals of the black continent.
He noted that some countries are angry about good relationship between Tehran and Dakar.
However, Senegal is committed to its relations with Iran and will stay beside Tehran, Niang added.
The two diplomats also reviewed bilateral ties and shared views about regional and international developments
