TEHRAN – The Iranian Ambassador to Baghdad has commented on the establishment of new Iraqi cabinet, describing it as a “positive and final step.”

“It was a positive and final step which ended the 10-month political limbo in Iraq,” Hassan Danaiifar told the ISNA news agency in an interview published on Friday.
“Formation of the Iraqi cabinet, through reaching a consensus, and a majority vote (to cabinet members) indicate that Iraqis are ready to overcome their problems,” he said.
On the political developments which may occur in Iraq after the formation of the new cabinet, Danaiifar said he does not predict that a major problem arises in the near future.
“Iraqi parties have differing views on some issues. Some discords may give rise to future problems, but I don’t think that these problems occur in the near future,” the ambassador opined.
“We may witness the emergence of some problems after one and half of a year,” he said, adding “for example some ministers may be impeached.”
On Tuesday, parliament gave its approval to Maliki, three deputy prime ministers and 31 other cabinet ministers from among Iraq’s political blocs, and approved interim ministers for the remaining 10 cabinet posts.
