TEHRAN – A senior Iranian nuclear negotiator said on Friday that Iran is ready to cooperate with the International Atomic Energy Agency to put an end to allegations of nuclear weapons studies by Iran known as possible military dimensions (PMD).

“We are very hopeful that advances will be made to resolve the issue of PMD,” Abbas Araqchi stated.

He described PMD as an “old and chronic” matter.

He stated that Tehran is “ready to cooperate with Mr. Amano so that it can be proved that these accusations and claims… are baseless”.

“Mr. Amano had a good visit to Tehran, according to the reports we have had. It was a success and we hope to be able to make progress on PMD,” Araqchi said.
