Iran, Mexico sign labor cooperation MOU

TEHRAN- Iranian Cooperatives, Labor and Social Welfare Minister Ali Rabiei and Mexican Secretary of Labor and social Welfare Alfonso Navarrete Prida signed a memorandum of understanding on labor cooperation in Tehran on September 7.


The agreement includes cooperation and exchange of experiences in job health and safety, employment, social welfare and empowerment of disabled people, in addition to technical and occupational training, the Mehr News Agency reported on Tuesday.

The Mexican official expressed happiness over his visit to Iran and said his country attaches high importance to expansion of ties with the Islamic Republic in the political, economic and social fields.

Rabiei, for his part, mentioned the meeting with his Mexican counterpart a turning point in development of ties between the two countries; noting that making the labor cooperation agreement is a good start for expansion of relations.

Iran and Mexico have had always good relationships; the official said adding that exchange of social welfare experiences between the two countries will strengthen bilateral ties.

In a meeting with Iranian Majlis Foreign Policy and National Security Committee Chairman Alaeddin Boroujerdi in Tehran on June 15, the chair of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the Senate of the Republic of Mexico Gabriela Cuevas Barron said that Mexican corporations are ready to enter the Iranian market.
