Japan calls for establishment of ties with Iran's free zones

TEHRAN (Fars News Agency) -- Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industries seeks to establish relations with Iran's free zones, first secretary of the country's embassy in Tehran said.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of his visit to Aras Free Zone in northwestern Iran on Monday, the Japanese diplomat said that his country attaches significance to Iran's free trade and industrial zones, and said, ""Considering Iran's economic and investment conditions as well as the opportunities existing for the development of mutual economic cooperation, expanding ties with such apt countries as Iran is of vital importance for Japan.""
He also said that his country's economy and trade ministry intends to identify the existing potentials and conditions in Iran's free zones by the end of the current year in a bid to recognize investment opportunities and bolster mutual economic cooperation with Iran
