Turkish FM due in Tehran

ANKARA (IRNA) -- Turkish Foreign Minister Ali Babacan is to pay an official visit to Tehran on Saturday, it was announced here Thursday.

During the visit, the Turkish foreign minister is to confer with high ranking Iranian officials on regional development and Iraq in particular.
The is to visit take place on the threshold of the foreign ministerial meeting of Iraq's neighboring states in Istanbul, according to an official at Turkish Foreign Ministry.
During the visit, the Turkish foreign minister is to discuss his country's views on regional developments mainly Iraq as well as threats posed by Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), said the source.
Babacan is expected to confer with his Iranian counterpart Manuchehr Mottaki on the latest regional developments as well as bilateral ties between Tehran and Ankara.
