TEHRAN - The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Commander Mohammad-Ali Jafari here on Friday warned enemies about plotting against the Islamic Republic, saying the Iranian nation would respond to enemy military action like a tsunami.

""The ocean of the Iranian nation may sometimes look calm but if it becomes stormy it will create tsunamis,"" he said as carried by the Associated Press.
In a speech to worshippers at Friday prayers at Tehran University marking the anniversary of the establishment of the Basij force, he stated, “Our enemies should know that our nation is being patient against their mischief and that this is the calmness before a storm, because if the Supreme Leader gives orders to foil these plots, the Basij and the Iranian nation are ready to neutralize these plots as required.”
Defense Minister Mostafa Mohammad Najar also described the “asiji spirit and thought” as the main factor behind the Islamic Republic of Iran’s success.
“This spirit can overcome any threat or sanction,” Najar said at a meeting with high-ranking military officials in Ardabil Province.
The people’s power, strong logic, and Iran’s lucid and clear stances are the things which have isolated the illogical and war-hungry U.S., he added.
Najar also referred to the recent report released by IAEA Director General Mohamed ElBaradei as a proof of the fact that Iran has been observing the Non-Proliferation Treaty.
The defense minister stated that Tehran seeks peace, adding, “Iran relies on the will and faith of its people and does not need any nuclear weapons.
