Iran, Senegal discuss future Islamic summit in Dakar

TEHRAN (IRNA) -- President Mahmud Ahmadinejad here on Tuesday voiced Iran's readiness to help in holding the future summit of the Islamic states in Senegal.

In a meeting with special envoy of the Senegalese president, he expressed hope that the conference would be held successfully.
He also hoped that participants in the summit would make useful decisions on the entire world of Islam.
Tehran and Dakar share identical views regarding various regional and international developments, President Ahmadinejad said expressing his satisfaction with the existing amicable ties between the two nations.
Iran-Senegal bilateral cooperation is growing on the basis of mutual interests, he reiterated.
For his part, the Senegalese official submitted to Ahmadinejad a written message from President Abdoulaye Wade.
Tehran-Dakar friendly relations can be considered as an appropriate model for all Muslim states, he added.
As to holding of Islamic states summit in Dakar in 2008, he announced his country's interest in utilizing Iran's valuable experiences to hold the meeting in the best possible manner.
