Unique treatment for shattered kidney in Ramtin Hospital

TEHRAN -- Through a unique medical treatment and service approach a patient with shattered kidney and mild contusion of the spleen, could recover her health without any surgical operation here in Ramtin Hospital.

The 19-year old female patient had fallen onto a rocky road from a mountain and as a result she was suffering from Pararenal Hematoma, left pleural effusion, and hematoma around the spleen, the public relations department of Ramtin cardio-vascular research and treatment center reported.

A group of experienced nephrologists and internists made consequent clinical examinations, and suggested Nephrectomy and splenectomy.

However, cardio-vascular surgeon professor Alireza Esmat adopted an innovative scientific medical therapy approach, and the shattered kidney started to functioning properly again within 12 days.

The patient was recently discharged from the hospital and is in a very good condition
