Vietnam supports Iran’s right to nuclear technology

TEHRAN, Dec. 22 (MNA) – Vietnamese Foreign Minister Pham Gia Khiem on Friday emphasized the necessity of expanding ties with the Islamic Republic of Iran in all spheres.

In a meeting with Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister for Asia-Pacific Affairs Mahdi Safari in Hanoi on Friday, Khiem, who also acts as deputy prime minister, voiced Vietnam's support for Iran's right to nuclear technology for peaceful purposes.
The minister said that Vietnam too is going to acquire nuclear technology as a necessary requirement for developing the country.
Khiem also appreciated Iran's support for his country's bid to win a nonpermanent seat in the UN Security Council.
He then expressed his countries interest to improve economic relations with Iran especially in oil and gas sector.
Insisting on the need for strengthening the relations between the two countries, Safari said Tehran sees no limit in expanding ties with Hanoi.
Iran's stance on nuclear technology is within the framework of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Safari stressed, adding that now it has been proved that Iran’s declarations about the peaceful nature of its nuclear program have been true.
Iranian official also invited Khiem to visit Iran in the near future.
