President chairs meeting to survey cold weather problems

SARI, Mazandaran Prov. (IRNA) -- President Mahmud Ahmadinejad chaired a session, held here on Friday, to examine ways to solve problems caused by recent unprecedented cold in northern provinces of the country.

Ministers of oil and of commerce, government spokesman, governors general of the provinces of Gilan, Golestan, Mazandaran, and Semnan as well as a number of other state and military officials were present in the meeting, which convened at Mazandaran Governor General's Office.
President Ahmadinejad arrived in this Iranian northern city on Friday on a snap visit.
The president visited the province to look into the problems arising from recent unprecedented cold, including gas supply cuts in certain regions.
Mazandaran Province, mostly its central and eastern parts, have been suffering fuel shortage over the past 10 days.
