U.S. trying to bribe Iraqi MPs to pass oil and gas law: report
TEHRAN – Some U.S. companies have offered a $5 million bribe to each Iraqi MP for passing an oil and gas law which has been stalled in the parliament for more than a year, the Bahrain newspaper Akhbar Alkhaleej reported on Tuesday.
The law, intended to share oil and gas resources among Shias, Sunnis, and Kurds, has been stuck due to dispute between the Kurds and the central government over who has the final say in managing oil and gas fields.
