Enemies inciting sedition among Iraqi Shias: Rafsanjani

TEHRAN – Inciting discord and sedition among Shias are the main goal of Iraq’s enemies, Expediency Council Chairman Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani said in a meeting with former Iraqi prime minister Ibrahim Jafari here on Sunday.

Stressing the important of unity between Iraqi people, Rafsanjani said that the Iraqi Constitution can be a good covenant of establishing unity or accommodating diversity between various religious and political parties and ethnic minorities.
The top Iranian cleric also said that bringing peace and security to the region can pave the way for improving the Iraqi security condition.
Jafari, who acts as the head of Dawa Party, highlighted the Islamic Republic of Iran’s role in solving his country’s problems and said, “Iran seeks to establish peace, security and stability in the region.”
Jafari said great positive changes would take place in Iraq in the case it uses Iran’s power in this regard
