TMCA curator Habibollah Sadeqi resigns

TEHRAN -- Habibollah Sadeqi, the curator of Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art (TMCA) and the Head of Culture and Islamic Guidance Ministry’s Office for Visual Arts resigned.
He submitted his resignation to Culture Minister Mohammad-Hossein Saffar Harandi last week.
Financial problems of the visual arts section and lack of a sufficient funding to hold biennials were amongst the reasons for his resignation.
-----Mashayekhi establishes Tehran’s Majlesi Orchestra
TEHRAN -- Former Tehran Symphony Orchestra conductor Nader Mashayekhi established Tehran’s Majlesi Orchestra.
Twenty five musicians are currently practicing for the concert which is scheduled to be held in Austria mid-May, Mashayekhi told MNA.
Nader Mashayekhi was informally dismissed from his post in the Tehran Symphony Orchestra in July 2007 when the Music and Poetry Office of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance announced that the orchestra no longer had a permanent leader and that it would be led by guest conductors in the future.
-----Selection of Iranian artworks to go on display in Kuwait
TEHRAN -- A selection of Iranian artworks on display at the Saba Art and Cultural Institute will go on exhibit in Kuwait.
Participating in the opening ceremony of the exhibit underway at Saba, the head of Kuwait Arts Association announced his decision to display some of the works in Kuwait.
The ongoing exhibit will run through until May 2 at the venue of Saba Art and Cultural Institute on Mozaffar St., Taleqani Ave, near Felestin Square..
