Iran’s ambassador meets Iraqi president

TEHRAN – Iran’s ambassador to Baghdad Hassan Qazemi-Qomi and Iraqi President Jalal Talbani held talks on Tuesday.


According to a report released by Talabani’s office, the two sides discussed issues of mutual interest and ways to strengthen cooperation between the two countries.

Talbani referred to political achievements made under the Nouri al-Maliki administration for closing ideas in line with forming a national unity government, saying, “Today Iraq is politically, economically, and militarily in a powerful status.”

The two sides also held talks over employing necessary mechanism for establishing security in Iraq.
