Iran, Azerbaijan call for stronger ties

TEHRAN – First Vice President Parviz Davudi on Wednesday called for closer cooperation between Iran and Azerbaijan.

In view of great historical, cultural, and religious affinities, the two nations have the potential to further improve bilateral relations, Davudi told visiting Azeri Minister of Agriculture and Food Ismat Abbasov.

He said Iran is prepared to share its experiences in agricultural development with the neighboring Azerbaijan.

Abbasov, for his part, expressed hope that regular meetings between Iranian and Azeri officials will further bolster mutual relations.
