TEHRAN - Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Secretary Saeed Jalili said here on Saturday that Iran has presented its strategic package of diplomatic proposals and is prepared to hold talks with the 5+1 group based on the “win-win” principle and mutual trust.

Jalili, who is Iran’s top nuclear negotiator, made the remarks in a video conference with 200 German intellectuals, politicians, security officials, academics, and reporters attending a conference in Nuremberg.
Iran’s decision to resume negotiations with the 5+1 group (five permanent members of the UN Security Council and Germany) provides a “golden opportunity” to promote peace, stability, and security in the region and the world, he underlined.
He went on to say that Iran would make every effort to gain the confidence of the 5+1 group during the talks.
Iran will remain committed to its obligations as a signatory to the International Atomic Energy Agency Statute and the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty but will not give in to any “unreasonable demand” in its peaceful nuclear drive, Jalili explained.
To promote Iran-European Union cooperation, the best thing would be to focus on the “common points” in the Iranian and 5+1 group packages since that would benefit both sides, the region, and the world, Jalili stated.
And EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana also said the Iranian and 5+1 group packages have many things in common, Jalili pointed out.
If the two sides adopt “profound and far-sighted” positions on issues of mutual interest, this would provide better opportunities for “interaction and dialogue”, he noted
