TEHRAN – Expediency Council Chairman Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani on Monday highlighted Iran’s interest in improving relations with Sudan.

The Islamic Republic is determined to pursue its policy of bolstering ties with Islamic and African countries, especially Sudan, Rafsanjani told Sudanese Ambassador to Tehran Abdullah Khasar al-Bashir.
“In view of Sudan’s great potential in agriculture, water, and minerals, expansion of cooperation will benefit both countries,” said the cleric.
He called on the Islamic states to preserve unity in the face of the world powers’ mounting efforts to take control of developing countries.
Al-Bashir said Sudan can play a positive role in upgrading Iran’s relations with Africa.
Utilizing Sudan’s resources together with Iran’s technology will set an excellent example of cooperation for the world, he added
