TEHRAN – The national barcode system Iran Code was officially launched here on Wednesday by President Mahmud Ahmadinejad.

With the launching of this project, production, distribution, and purchases and sales will become organized, and it will play a significant role in the country’s economy, Ahmadinejad told reporters after the Iran Code inauguration ceremony, which was held at the Presidential Office.
“Twenty years ago this project was launched, and now, with the help of God and the efforts of my colleagues in the ninth government, today we are witnessing the inauguration of 30 related projects, each of which have many sub-branches,” he added.
This system is regarded as one of the country’s most important infrastructure projects, which directly influences the distribution market and electronic trade.
President Ahmadinejad, Commerce Minister Masud Mir-Kazemi, and many other high-ranking officials attended the inauguration ceremony.
