Iran, Jordan review expansion of mutual cooperation

AMMAN (IRNA) -- Iran's Housing and Urban Development Minister Mohammad Saeedi-kia conferred here on Sunday with Jordanian Prime Minister Nader al-Dahabi on expansion of cooperation between the two countries.

At the meeting, the two sides discussed expansion of mutual cooperation in various economic, technical, engineering and cultural fields as well as in tourism.
The two sides also studied untapped economic capabilities to help broaden and bolster such ties.
Saeedi-kia arrived in Amman on Saturday to attend the Ninth Iran-Jordan Economic Cooperation Commission Meeting.
The Ninth Iran-Jordan expert level meeting of joint the commission was held in Amman on Saturday.
Officials from both sides studied the agenda for the joint commission meeting which will begin on Monday.
Saeedi-kia and Jordanian Minister of Industry and Trade Amir al-Hadidi will co-chair the ministerial meeting.
The Iranian delegation, headed by Saeedi-kia, includes representatives from the ministries of commerce, housing, health and agriculture as well as Iran Khodro and Saipa auto-manufacturing companies and tourism officials.
Iranian and Jordanian officials are scheduled to ink several documents and examine ways to implement the agreements reached earlier.
The two countries have signed a number of agreements in the cultural and economic sectors including 25 documents on cooperation.
Volume of trade exchange between Iran and Jordan is estimated to stand about dlrs 60 million in a year.
