Iran's wheelchair b-ballers leave Paralympic village

BEIJING -- Iran's wheelchair basketball team has left the Paralympic village after decided not to play the U.S. in the quarterfinal round of the 2008 Beijing Paralympic Games on Saturday.

The International Wheelchair Basketball Federation (IWBF) and the International Paralympics Committee announced that Iran have pulled out of competition “due to their dissatisfaction with the draw proposed for the cross-over round and subsequent schedule”.
Iranian wheelchair basketball team has now left the village and will return to Tehran soon.
“They (IPC officials) ordered our wheelchair basketball team to leave the village. The team will come back to Iran as soon as possible,” said Iran's Paralympics supervisor.
Iran defeated South Africa, Sweden and Japan and lost to Germany and Canada. The team was originally scheduled to play at 11:00 am but the officials changed the timetable and Iranians pulled out from the competitions
