Iran GM beats host rival in Pichay Cup

Iran's Grandmaster Ehsan Qaem Maqami beats Ronald Bancod from the Philippines in the fourth Prospero Pichay Cup International Chess Championship.

The Iranian GM got three points after defeating Bancod in the fourth round on Wednesday in the Philippines.
Qaem Maqami ended in a draw with Wang Li of China in the first round and then defeated Rhobel Legaspi from the Philippines to get 1.5 points.
In the third round, the Iranian Grandmaster shared the points with GM Yang Wen of China.
The 26-year-old Qaem Maqami is slated to play against Grandmaster Mark Paragua from the host country in the fifth round of the event.
