Iran crowned Berlin Karate tourney champ

TEHRAN -- Iran’s karate team claimed the championship of the Berlin International Karate Tournament on Saturday night.

Iran bagged four gold medals, six silvers and one bronze in the event.

Hossein Rohani 60- kg, Zhaveh Vojdani 65- kg, Nader Judat 80- kg and Reza Azizi (open) won golds in the tournament. Mohammad Ghorubi 60-kg, Hassan Rohani 65-kg, Saeid Farrokhi 70- kg, Rasul Hamrang 75- kg, Maziar Elhami 80-kg and Esmaeil Torkzad (open) took the silvers and Payam Moradi won the bronze.

Altogether 620 karatekas from 13 countries participated in the one day tournament in Berlin, Germany
