Iran-India joint meeting begins

TEHRAN (IRNA) -- Meeting of the 15th Iran-India Joint Committee opened on Saturday in the presence of Iran’s Finance Minister Shamseddin Hosseini and Minister of External Affairs of India Pranab Mukherjee.

Mukherjee is currently in Iran heading a high-ranking economic delegation to discuss ways to promote Tehran-New Delhi economic ties during the two-day meet.
The two sides are expected to sign 11 memorandums of understanding for expansion of investments and economic cooperation in the fields of air transportation and judiciary.
The meeting is also to pave the way for sisterhood of Iran’s Shahid Rajaee Port in Hormuzgan province with India’s Jawaharlal Nehru Port as well as cooperation of the Iranian and Indian railways.
