MASHHAD – Iranian ambassador to Ashgabat Mohammad-Reza Forqani stated in Mashhad on Tuesday that Iran-Turkmenistan trade value stood at $2 billion in 2008.

“The two-way trade in the (Iranian calendar year) 1385 (ended March 19, 2007) exceeded $1.4 billion and reached $1.8 billion in the next (calendar) year,” he added.
He said that the customs office in Iran’s Lotfabad border with Turkmenistan is one of the country’s most active customs offices with over 200 trailers crossing it daily which indicates good bilateral transaction.
